Some 28 structured products worth an estimated ZAR452m ($22.8m) were added to the SRP South Africa database in the first quarter of 2023.
Year-on-year (YoY), issuance dropped by 51% (Q1 2022: 58 products). Twenty products with a combined sales volume of ZAR309m had a strike date during the quarter. Another 77 products, which sold ZAR1.5 billion at inception, reached maturity. Most of the maturing products were from Standard Bank (47), followed by ABSA (11) and Investec Bank (five).
