The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is seeking to redefine its investor classification based on their affordable loss, investment knowledge and experience, which will comprise professional investors (PI), qualified investors (QI), affluent investors (AI) and retail investors. If the rules are passed, the minimum net-asset required for investors eligible for non-principal-protected notes, which offer less than 80% of capital protection by definition, will drop to THB30m (US$960,507
