Natixis has announced that Samuel Rosenberg has joined its Americas platform as managing director and head of equity derivatives sales, Americas.
As reported, Rosenberg joined the French bank in August and is based in New York. He reports to Stephane Launay, head of equity markets, Americas and globally as reported to Eric Le Brusq, global head of sales and financial engineering, equity derivatives. The firm's cross-asset investment solutions, financial engineering, flow sales and fund solutions teams will report to Rosenberg.
Launay said that during the execution of Natixis's New Deal strategic plan, the New York platform engaged an in-depth refocusing of its equity derivatives business to servicing Natixis customers across the Americas.
"This resulted in an increase of its product offering to the customers in the region," he said. "Under the current Natixis strategic plan, called New Frontier, the platform is entering a growth phase. This development is very good news for us and for our clients as it confirms Natixis's financial health and American ambition."
The addition of Rosenberg to the firm's equity Americas platform, said Launay, is a "major step" forward in the growth phase. "Sam is a highly recognised and respected professional covering a wide range of equity derivatives customers on a broad span of investment, financing and hedging products," he added explaining that Rosenberg will be a key driver in the development of Natixis client franchise.
Recent hires
Rosenberg's appointment is the latest in a series of recent senior hires this year as the French bank builds up its equity derivatives capabilities globally, including Selim Mehrez as global head of equity derivatives, in Paris, in January; Eric Le Brusq, formerly global head of equity and commodity derivative sales at BNP Paribas in Paris; Asra Abdulaziz, who joined as Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) head of sales, also in London; and Nicolas Reille, formerly head of sales and marketing, Asia Pacific (APAC), global equity derivatives (GED) at Société Générale in Hong Kong, who joined Natixis in September as head of solutions sales, also in Hong Kong.
Rosenberg has nearly 20 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining Natixis, he was global head of financing engineering at Newedge, part of Société Générale, where he spent his entire career in equity and derivatives sales and financial engineering positions. Before assuming his duties at Newedge in March this year, he was managing director, deputy head of sales in the cross-asset solutions department.
Rosenberg joined Société Générale in 1994 as a financial engineer specialising in structured products within the bank's former global equity derivative solutions team in Paris. He spent 19 years at the bank in a number of roles, including head of equity derivatives sales for the Americas region, where he supervised a team of 37 employees and was in charge of selling principal-protected notes, reverse convertibles, warrants, exchange-traded funds, OTC options and swaps and leveraged products linked to alternative investments.
