S&P Capital IQ has launched its Global Markets Intelligence (GMI) group, a new advisory business aimed at providing risk-based non-discretionary equity, fixed income portfolio strategies, asset allocation and fund review services to asset managers.
GMI currently advises on over $18bn in total assets.
President, S&P Capital IQ and S&P Indices, Lou Eccleston (pictured), said that the new business displays an example of leveraging proprietary content, analytics and intellectual property to help customers drive growth.
"The key to the Global Markets Intelligence approach is that our methodologies are built with risk mitigation components as core, not as a separate overlay," said Michael Thompson, head of GMI at S&P Capital IQ. "This risk-based approach is at the heart of generating superior risk-adjusted returns."
Global Markets Intelligence runs through S&P Investment Advisory Services in the US, and through McGraw Hill Research Group in the UK and Europe.
