Some 78 structured products with estimated worth of ZAR1,143m ($58.5m) were added to the SRP South Africa database in the second quarter of 2023.
Quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), issuance increased by 178% (from 28 products in Q1 2023 to 78 products in Q2 2023). Eighty-five products had a strike date over the period. Some 67 products matured, releasing ZAR1.2 billion back onto the market for reinvestment. Most of the maturing notes are from Standard Bank (37) and Absa (20), but they also included structures issued via BNP Paribas (four) and First Rand Group (three).
