Vontobel has launched the Vontobel Investment Scout app to enable private investors in Switzerland to select structured products tailored to their individual preferences and immediately issue them via an iPhone application.

The app combines smart data with the user's personal profile to allow investors to find appropriate current market opportunities, and then issue a suitable product to buy via their own bank. With this app, Vontobel is seeking to expand its portfolio of digital services for structured products, according to Roger Studer, head of Vontobel Investment Banking.

"With the Vontobel Investment Scout app, we are able to use our internationally recognized expertise in the market for structured products for the first time for smartphones," says Studer, in a statement. "Users select, issue and track their product portfolios on their iPhone, anytime, anywhere, bringing together the world of structured products and mobile communications, which is new in the market."

The new app will connect investors to the Derinet online portal and the Deritrade digital marketplace, where they can design and issue, access price comparison and monitor tailor-made structured products. The Vontobel Investment Scout app expands and supplements its range of digital services in this area, making it possible for the first time to select and issue structured products using mobile communications via an iPhone.

According to Studer, the new app features intuitive navigation and is available in English and German. The app requires a one-off registration, where they select their personal preferences for designing products. The user profile can be amended at any time in line with the client's specific needs and risk characteristics.

The new app deploys Deritrade SmartGuide's smart- and crowd data analysis through which comprehensive data sets, complex relationships and current developments are analyzed in a timely manner and bundled for customers to match the user profile. The top product matching the client's profile will always appear in the home page. The app also provides explanations about the the products selected, together with a scenario simulation, and alternative products. Users will also be able to see what products are currently popular with others in the community, and what their take is on the structured products market.

Vontobel's clients will be able to select their desired product via the app and inform their bank relationship manager directly from the app about the selected product via e-mail including the purchase order.

The app will also enable clients to track the products they have selected and purchased, as well as provide access to the bank's portfolio functionality which includes not only products from Vontobel, but all products issued via the Deritrade MIP platform. The app also provides information on all offered products, exciting investment themes from the bank's Derinews blog, market facts and other background information.

The Vontobel Investment Scout mobile app can be downloaded from the Swiss App Store.

Vontobel has over 8,500 live products across jurisdictions and is second most active provider in Europe by sales volumes with over €1.2bn sold this year, including leveraged and flow products and an 8% market share.
