Dutch government updates prospectus exemption

Jeroen Dijsselbloem (pictured), the Dutch Minister of Finance has announced that the exemption rule for providing a prospectus in the Netherlands will be increased from €2.5m to €5m. In addition, companies using the exemption must notify the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) in advance while issuers are obliged to provide an information document, not to be confused with the Key information document (Kid), which helps investors to understand the costs, risks and return of the investment, and that is included in the annex of the exemption scheme, according to Dijsselbloem.
