Swissquote Group Holding has enhanced its Themes Trading service, enabling traders to purchase entire basket of structured products via their mobile phones. The change "swiftly make these improvements available in the mobile environment", according to Marc Bürki (pictured), chief executive officer, Swissquote Group Holding and Swissquote Bank.

"Advisors using our network have pointed out that there are so many products available on the platform that is difficult to find the right fit for a specific goal, so we have developed a tool that brings together baskets of structured products by theme (such as geography, sectors) and economic views (such as Brexit)."

Initially, the tool was aimed at providing baskets of stocks, which was problematic because investors needed large amounts of money to buy the stocks selected on those baskets, according to Bürki. "The solution came in the form of structured products which can provide access to the same theme baskets," said Bürki. "We partnered with Vontobel to provide our clients with access to those themes, but at a much cheaper price."

Requests through the tool are passed to Vontobel, which then structures a product that will be booked on the Swissquote platform and traded on the Six Structured Products Exchange. "The tool will help investors find products addressing their investment needs and views on the market," said Bürki.

In January 2016, Swissquote became the first Swiss bank to roll out an Apple TV application, offering continuous financial news coverage, showing the main indices, currency pairs and economic news.

The provider has also announced the launch of a new and updated version of its Swissquote - Mobile Banking and Trading Solution for iOS devices, which fuses its iPhone and iPad applications, and includes the ability to subscribe to the Lombard loan service from an account, as well as refer a friend. Users of the tool can also access Swissquote Pulse, the company's social network, which is in development, according to Bürki.
